Bandcamp Hunting #3 - 5 Things You Should Hear

Only lately I started to discover the magic of Bandcamp. Since it's so wonderful and contains endless creators and music styles, I decided to "dig" for some new tunes, hoping it may give you an opportunity to listen to stuff which could have escaped from your ear... so let's go...

Chandeen - Blood Red Skies

Seems that you can still hear good Alternative New Wave music made in Germany. Chandeen are working together since 1990, saying that they are inspired by Dead Can Dance, Brian Eno and Cocteau Twins what made me listen and enjoy their music as well

Eva Kinnebrew - Kinetic Friction

Eva Kinnebrew is making bitter sweet Folk songs with acoustic guitar and her soft wonderful voice. I listen to it late at night and it might be one of my favourite "Before sleep" records. She describes the album as various thoughts about travel and "home"...


There's Talk - Tiny Strands

I didn't know that there's something called Electronic Folk until I heard this short EP of this San Francisco based Trio. The voice of Olivia Lee is haunting and fits the simple production of this EP. Don't miss it!


Cavalier In Clay - Bulb [Single]

This is the first single from upcoming second album of Brady Sklar, which will be called Appalechia. Brady is making Folk Rock songs and draws his inspirations from John Denver and Johnny Cash to Wilcow and Bon Iver. I liked it and I'm waiting for the full release

Urban Rescue - Listen Empty B-Sides

This is a collection of four acoustic B-sides from an album with the same name which was released on 2012. I like the voice of Jordan Frye as well as the beautiful minimalist production of this release. Hoping to hear about them in the future

Blue (Pick Word #30)

That's been a wonderful day today with a blue sky and beautiful sunshine. It reminded me of some songs about the Blue color, so here are five of them by Passangers, Moby, Elbow, Nick Drake and Cocteau Twins. Seems that I'll publish more notes about this beautiful color.

The Dark Night Of Trip Hop: 15 Years To Massive Attack's "Mezzanine"

After releasing Protection, it seems that Massive Attack have gained their place in the Trip-Hop hall of fame. That album was brilliantly produced and the collaboration with Tracey Thorn from Everything But The Girl and Tricky was excellent. Then, the expectations raised and when Mezzanine, their third studio album on 20th of April, 1998, some of the fans couldn't believe that's it's the same group. Instead of the Jazzy and Reggae sound of the earlier record, Mezzanine was kind of Ambient, Dark wave album. One of the most surprising things in that album was the collaboration with Ex-Cocteau Twins singer, Elizabeth Fraser, who sang three songs. Sadly, that was the last release with two of the founding members Andrew Vowels and Grant Marshall, who left the band soon after the release of Mezzanine, leaving last member, Robert Del Naja, as the only one left from the core founding Trio. The album is considered as the most successful and innovative album by Massive Attack since it contains a sample in each song ranging from Isaac Hayes to Led Zeppelin. It was also one of the first albums released as a MP3 file, forecasting the future change in the music industry. So here are five songs that might help you memorise why I consider it one of the greatest albums ever

Dumb (Pick Word #26)

Being Dumb means you're unable to speak because of speech disorders. If once it was a disorder which meant that you could never get along in this world, then these days, if we put aside our prejudice, most of the obstacles of being Dumb has been removed due to technological development. You can see dumb people speak to each other using Skype or Mobile Devices (Of the third generation and up), which help them conduct a visual conversation, you can also purchase all the products you need without speaking to any person via Internet. A finger Ring is a circular band that is worn as an ornamental jewellery around the finger. It can be made by many kinds of materials such as wood, metal, plastic, glass and more. You can often find a precious stone on it's top like diamonds, emeralds and Sapphire. the fourth finger of the left hand is known for the name Ring Finger for being that one that we usually wear a wedding ring on it. Foxes (Pick Word #3)

We all born and raise on stories like Little Red Cap where the red fox (Known as Vulpes Vulpes) plays the role of the bad character. Suffering from a bad public relations along history, the fox is not that bad as it was drown in our childhood. There are about 12 kinds of species which we can define as "True foxes", some of them had been domesticated by human beings.
